Vue 3 includes <Teleport>, which renders a component's content elsewhere in the DOM, usually at the end of the body, and covers the main reason portal-vue existed. portal-vue still has a Vue 3 version but has had no commit since 2023. For tooltips, v-tooltip continues as floating-vue, which uses Floating UI for positioning. vue-final-modal provides stackable, Tailwind-friendly modals, and vuejs-dialog and vuejs-confirm-dialog turn alert and confirm dialogs into promises.

The category also includes image and video lightboxes (v-viewer, vue-it-bigger), a SweetAlert2 wrapper and a guided-tour component. Overlays are where accessibility most often fails: a modal should trap focus, close on Escape, return focus to its trigger and hide background content from screen readers. Check those behaviors, along with scroll locking on mobile and SSR safety, before adopting a modal library. vodal targets Vue 2 and has had no commit since early 2024.
